The Problem maybe.

We are back from Spring Break! Lets continue where we left of. So what should a believer do? We’ll take a look into one of the biggest question before we continue on with our talk. So again what should a believer do with the controversial issue of Secular music? What do you think? If we take a step back and listen to the music around us what are the messages that we hear? These days we have gone even deeper into what the culture wants. As we know the each generations artist have the same goal, to make money. Yet they make money by making what the culture wants. From the bad to good things happening in culture we can hear what is happening all around. The people who write the songs they do use music to express, proclaiming what they have experienced or they are currently experiencing. It gives of a very powerful message. It goes to say that each type of music produces a different feeling or emotion. From listening to secular music I get this “intricate, indescribably feel good lust”. While at the same time with the CCM music, especially worship this almost “sacred , intimate and beckoning spirituality”. One hits deeper than the other but each gives its own effects and toll. So is listening to Secular music bad? If not is listening to all secular music good? Because I know for me I am prone to disaster sometimes since music does affect us in many ways.  The things you listen to and take in will affect you greatly.

  1. I think in order to really appreciate music you have to be open to listening to all genres, but as a believer I do agree that one is opening oneself up to disaster by listening to secular music. I guess this is a type of question you have to answer for yourself and discern whether or not you can handle that in your life and your walk with the Lord.
