Lets Do A Little Bit Of

So now that we know and have clarified, defining what CCM and Mainstream are let’s do a little bit of history. When did the separation come from and why. The separation started perhaps a long time ago. Culture and religion have created this separation. If we were to look back to scholars in the past it could be proposed that they were the ones who wrote songs. The fact being that the educated were those who could not only read but also write. Those who were able to do so were the religious. The schools of that time and the most educated people would be religious raising monks, priest, cardinals, etc. It is true that there were many people who made songs and sang them. These people were not able to produce it in writings the ideas that flowed from their minds. So the songs written a long time ago were religious songs mostly. More and more people became educated as time passed and variety of writings were produced. Over time as the separation between church and state begin happening more writings are seen expressing this separation. Still it is not until the 1960s when it especially affected society. The Jesus Movement, as it was and is still called, spurred up this being called the “Jesus music” at some point. That was when Christian music became an industry as most things have come to be. So now why is it still there as a separation? What do the artist themselves believe? Should they be separated still? Is it good or bad things?
